Ship of  heroes, the peaceful kind, the kind that endeavor to saves lives, to restore quality of life, freedom of life, the rights of individuals regardless of nation, creed, color, or class, those kinds of heroes; upon this ship are many of the faces of the peace movement, people who bravely opposed the Bush administration’s machinations of war and torture and who continue to oppose the machinations of the Obama administration yet who take their efforts to sea to attempt to bring life saving materials to the open air prison of Gaza.

Also watch how Audacity of Hope activist passenger, Ray McGovern, a former CIA analyst who gave Bush Sr. his daily CIA briefings, was beaten and brutalized by Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s security forces when he peacefully stood and turned his back on the podium in silent protest of war during one of her talks. He was wearing a Veteran’s for Peace T-shirt.

Remember the problem of T-shirts during the Bush administration? Remember? What has changed when this can happen as Clinton coldly and coolly continues a talk about abuse of peaceful protesters in other countries!

Cindy Sheehan www.cindysheehanssoapbox.com has organized a nonviolent, civil disobedience, anti-war, peace coalition called Peace of the Action www.peaceoftheaction.org.

Recently Peace of the Action camped out at the Nation’s Capital, hundreds protested in front of the White House and over sixty Americans, including Cindy were arrested for practicing nonviolent civil resistance in opposition to these illegal wars, occupations, and for a full and complete end to torture which takes place under what is known as  torture loopholes http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=17204 .

In the video series below Cindy is joined by such antiwar greats as former CIA analyst Ray McGovern who used to give George HW Bush his daily CIA briefings and who founded Veteran Intelligence Officers for Sanity. He also writes for several sites, including Counterpunch, Antiwar.com, and Alternet.com*, and by Col. Ann Wright www.voicesofconscience.com, and author of Dissent: Voices of Conscience; Government Insiders Speak out Against the War in Iraq, one of the first State Department officials to retire in protest of the invasion of Iraq and who has been an outspoken peace activist ever since. Cindy is also joined by Kevin Zeese co-founder and Executive Director of Voters for Peace www.votersforpeace.us and by Brian Becker the National Coordinator of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition    https://secure2.convio.net/pep/site/SPageServer?pagename=ANS_homepage .

If you want to learn what is happening in the antiwar movement today, visit these sites and watch these videos of the recent camp out. Yes, the antiwar movement shrank when Obama became president, for we had high hopes, but it is once more rising, and rightly so, for Obama has sustained many Bush policies and has added draconian measures such as legalized assassinations of Americans.

The current antiwar movement is small but it is strong, it is being led by a core of long-term, well-disciplined, well-educated activists, a number of whom have been insiders such as Col. Wright or Ray McGovern. It has teeth and it has the discipline of nonviolent civil disobedience as a strategy, which Cindy Sheehan has long been a practitioner and leader of.

There’s another camp out in Washington DC this summer www.peaceoftheaction.org !

Share these videos with the peace mom in your life and have a peace filled Mother’s Day!
